For each Research and Oral Communication skill, we have listed several online activities that your child can explore themselves or that you and your child can do together.


Skill:

Gather information about a topic using books, newspapers, pictures, charts, graphs, and nonprint media (video, Internet, etc.)

Activities:

    Time magazine just for kids has interesting articles on people, places, and news.

  • NASA Newsbreaks

    Watch this cool video on the word cool!

  • Animals

    Like animals? Come read about all kinds of animals, such as pigeons, lions, and frogs.

Skill:

Give one- and two-step directions orally

Activities:
  • Recipe Card

    Tell a parent or friend how to make your favorite recipe. Then you can write it down on this recipe card!

  • Elwood City Map

    Practice telling directions with Arthur’s  city map. Can you give someone directions to your house?
